Okay, it's not a brown bag, I have a cheery, polka-dot Built lunch tote.
Almost every night, I get out my lunch pail and pack my food for the next workday. I have been packing a lunch and eating it 17 out of 20 days a month for the past 3 years.
If my calculations are right, eating out for those meals would have cost at least $6,732 ($3 for breakfast, $7 for lunch, $1 bottle water). Packing food costs $1,836 ($3 for the food). Over the 3 year period, I have saved $4,896! How's that return for 5 minutes of preparation the night before?
Brown bagging it definitely works for me
