Blue Bottle Coffee, Ferry Building

Malisa's birthday was last month. I had a nice evening planned at our favorite restaurant. The day before her bithday she said, "what if we went to a Giants game instead?" I immediately cancelled our reservations and she bought tickets online. What guy in his right mind would pass up a Giants game?

Before the game we visited Blue Bottle Coffee in the Ferry Building. This was our third Blue Bottle experience. First being at the new Rockefeller Plaza location in NYC and the second at the Mint Plaza location in SF.

We had never been to the Ferry Building before. The halls were lined with shops selling produce, desserts, breads & cheeses and of course, coffee. It felt like an indoor farmer's market. We walked the length of the building to find Blue Bottle and, in true Blue Bottle fashion, there was a line of people waiting for coffee. We waited probably 15 minutes, but we weren't in a hurry. They had a few seats at the bar and an 'island' nearby specifically for Blue Bottle customers. Around the corner, there was a door leading out to the back patio with a great view of the Bay Bridge.

Also, I am also curious why it seems like every coffee shop uses the same dark orange mugs. Anyone know the answer to that?

We sat and drank our coffee and headed toward AT&T Park for the game. The Giants lost to the Rockies by one run!

Here are a few photos from our visit to Blue Bottle Ferry.
