I'm thankful for the ability to work in an environment that stretches my faith. An environment where most people don't believe the same things I do. Where people view their beliefs and worldview as the "sophisticated" mindset.
I'm grateful for a few people who do think similar to me and the opportunity I have to encourage them. I'm grateful for their encouraging words to me too! Sometimes, I get discouraged about being a minority in this environment. Never knowing when a coworker might find out I didn't go to a public school or any traditional school. I was homeschooled. Or they learn I don't share the same political, moral, or spiritual views. But then I remember Jesus.
Jesus was always different. He was shunned, mocked, criticized, marginalized, misunderstood, and killed because he didn't do what everyone thought he should have done. When I feel like an outsider and no one understands me, tears well up in my eyes and my throat gets tight.
Maybe, I'm becoming more like Jesus.
Happily joining Carina for Thankful Thursday:
