Last Thursday, I had the pleasure of speaking at an Open House for Weight Watchers held at my work. We have a weekly meeting and I was the guest speaker. Imagine my surprise when I got on the scale and saw I have gradually been going up instead of maintaining my weight.
Our leader said there were 8 weeks until Thanksgiving. If I was to lose a 1/2 pound a week, I could lose 8 sticks of butter. One stick of butter doesn't seem that heavy, but start carrying around 8, 20, or 100 sticks of butter and you'll notice it!
Honesty here: I have been gaining weight. But no more. Since last Friday, I've been counting my Points+ (a number given by calculating fat, carbohydrates, fiber, & protein). No more guessing with me, I'm fully aware of how I've put on a few extra pounds. Milkshakes at Chik-fil-A, eating after 8 pm, not walking, etc. I've gotten sloppy.
My personal goal is to lose 10 pounds by Thanksgiving (11/22). I hope to share some tips here and new recipes with Points+ values too!
