According to Goodwill's website:
Some Goodwill stores also operate upscale boutiques and specialty stores that feature name-brand designer fashions, jewelry, wedding gowns, antiques and other amazing finds.
That is definitely the case for the treasure of a store I found last week.
I stopped in to the 1621 L Street store and was shocked at the amazing place I discovered. This store was different than any other Goodwill I had ever been in, actually it was different than any other thrift store. It was clean. It was contemporary. It was designed by an interior decorator.
A boutique store is where you will find higher end brands and the best quality clothes. On my particular visit, I found lots of clothing from Banana Republic, White House, Black Market, Michael Kors, Talbots, Gap, INC, etc. The clothing prices were consistent with Goodwill's normal prices.
Upon speaking with the employees, I learned that this was a boutique store. There are only two in California, one is in San Francisco (but the employees didn't know the exact location) and these speciality stores are not listed on the website separately.
This is a store I am planning on stopping by as often as I can!
Have you ever been to a Goodwill Boutique store? If so, where and what were your finds?
